About this property

Norwich, NR4

4 bedrooms

Air source heat pump

EPC rating: 75 C (before PV+battery)

Cost of energy bills per year: £0.00

Installing the system

An early 80s property with double glazing, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation increased from 100mm to 270mm before EPC gained to enable BUS grant. Converted from vented, gravity-fed C/H to unvented, pressurised mains cold and DHW with new cylinder site and MyEnergi Eddi solar diverter integration.

Living with a heat pump

Works fine as an alternative home heating solution to gas condensing boiler, for just slightly under the running cost with far less carbon emitted after 6 months. Fully weather-dependent curve space heating in use. Plenty of hot water. Interesting effects on hot+cold tap combination pressure. Increase in pressure resulted in en-suite shower leak. Initial resonant noise easily mitigated by customer, able to sleep through overnight use including defrost cycles.
