Octopus Cosy 9 air source heat pump in a 1920 - 1944 property

Paul

I've always been a technology enthusiast and in the past 10-15 years or so I've become more and more interested in electrification of everything to stop burning fossil fuels. As well as the Heat Pump we have 2 EVs, and I run a YouTube channel with a series documenting the install process of the Heat Pump.

Installing the system

My installation took 4 days, and I'm very happy so far. The installation was done to a very high standard - much better and neater than my previous installation (an 18kW Gas system boiler). The Heat Pump is located round the side passage to my house, directly underneath where my hot water cylinder is in the loft.

Living with a heat pump

It's early days at the moment and we're having a mini heatwave in the UK so we're only using for hot water at the moment, but it's working brilliantly so far - and coupled with our cheap overnight rate it's very cheap to run.
