Air source heat pump

Cost of energy bills per year: Not had the heat pump long enough to say.

Installing the system

I had one extra radiator in the lounge, which I could have done with under the gas boiler system. I did some calculations which suggested that much of the energy from my solar panels was going to be sent back to the grid which would cover the extra electricity for the heat pump.

Living with a heat pump

The house has been at a more comfortable temperature and the hot water reaches the taps faster than with a combi boiler. I do have a small IR heater which I can use if there is a particularly cold evening when I am just sitting watching TV.
