I was keen to reduce our carbon footprint but was anxious that installing a heat pump would be expensive and it might be at least as expensive to run. Having made the leap I'd like to help others make the transition as well.

Installing the system

The house is a Victorian semi with existing cavity wall insulation and double glazing. We replaced most of the radiators with larger ones to allow for a low flow temp and keep the efficiency high. We also have solar, an EV and domestic battery storage

Living with a heat pump

Brilliant. Much more comfortable than the old gas system, it's a much more constant, gentle heat. Energy bills are around half what they were before though that's partly to do with batteries etc
