We are a family of four, Mum, Dad and two daughters aged 9 and 12. We installed a Heat Pump as a final step towards decarbonising our home and as pat of a wider lifestyle aim to do our best. We're opening our home because we've had a great experience so far with the Heat Pump and there is such a tide of negative media out there it's important that people can speak to those whom have first hand experience and make an informed decision on the best solution for them and their home.

Installing the system

Installation was undertaken by a team from Octopus whom were very polite, friendly and respectful of the house. We had several upgraded radiators and a slimline water tank in the loft. We made no changes to the property ourselves as none were needed but we did need to have a Structural Survey done to ensure the water tank could be properly supported when full.

Living with a heat pump

We were a little worried about having enough hot water but the tank has been sized based on our usage and, with a few minor changes to routine we have no problems at all. The house is warmer and a more consistent temperature all the time - we don't have cold periods when the heating is 'off' at all.
