My main motivation for installing a heat pump was to save money on my energy bills. But I do also wish to help in countering man-made climate change. I am willing to host visitors because there is so much ill-informed criticisms of heat pumps primarily caused by poor installations.

Installing the system

I have an air source heat pump installed in May 2025 by Octopus Energy. The pre-install planning took about two months and the installation itself took four days. The overall experience was first class.

Living with a heat pump

As of May 2025 I can talk about installation experience but in will not have the necessary experience to discuss the heat pumps overall performance before a year has passed.
