Daikin air source heat pump in a 1945 - 1964 property

Mo

We are a family of three who feel conscious of how our lifestyle impacts the planet. Swapping swapping our aging boiler for an air source heat pump felt like an environmentally and financially sustainable choice.

Installing the system

My old combi boiler was starting to develop some issues, and I wanted a more environmentally friendly, and cost effective, way to heat my water and my home than sticking with gas. I'd replaced old windows and doors to the home, ensured adequate loft insulation, and wanted to make sustainable choices for my own finances and for the planet.

Our installation from Octopus Energy took a week and went really smoothly. The team working here were all friendly and respectful of my home. When I heard about Nesta's Visit a Heat Pump scheme, I remembered how I'd had a lot of questions whilst considering an air source pump. I'd love to welcome you to an event if seeing an already-installed air source pump could help you in your decision process too.

Living with a heat pump

The app that controls the system is easy to use, and I don't find the noise from the pump disturbing. Sign up to my next event to see the pump, water cylinder, radiiators, and pipework.

Accessing the venue

Parking is on the street. An hourly bus comes along the road and more frequent buses stop 10-15 minutes walk away. My house is accessed down a flight of steps, and my toilet is also situated up a flight of stairs.
