To do the right thing and reduce my carbon footprint and future proof the house to electrify everything. Also had a new gas mains installed which initially leaked which was immediately resolved but did get me thinking about not having gas in the house anymore.

Installing the system

The installation was carried out by British Gas who were receptive to changes where possible and polite and professional throughout the installation. Very impressed with the outcome and is working as well as it did on the first day of commissioning. A Samsung Gen 7 was installed with a preplumbed and wired Worldheat Cylinder for compact installation. I was able to take advantage of the BUS grant and also an additional £2k from the Barclays greener homes initiative which meant i had a total of £9500 towards the install. Only the top floor radiators needed to be changed as using a high temperature heat pump. Controls included with ASHP. All connected to Samsung SmartThings for controls and monitoring. It also means that the service company can view the system remotely if there are any issues.

Living with a heat pump

Yes it has worked well and delivered a warm house and all the hotwater required without missing a beat.
