Terrace property, hosted by Maldwyn

For transparency I design heat pump and heating installations for a living and have taken advantage of the BUS scheme to install my own ASHP. I wanted to minimise disruption so located the the Vaillant 7Kw Arotherm Plus ASHP and cylinder back to back, my kitchen is open plan and the cylinder and controls are under the stairs, this limited amount of space presented its own constraints, I opted for a Vaillant Unistor Plus 175 litre with built in expansion and a Vaillant 30 litre volumiser which has been installed directly under the cylinder. I have upgraded six radiators to meet the fabric heat loss at a 45 degree flow, the system is controlled using Vaillant Senso Comfort with the Vaillnat Gateway for app control, i am currently trailing Havenwise for optimisation. The install took three days with a little making good still to do.

I'm only using it for hot water at the moment, its working fine, current COP is 3.9 and the running cost varies between £0.79 & £0.43 per day for a family of four, so approximately £20.00 for hot water for the month. It is 6Db quieter than the exhaust from my gas fired condensing boiler.
