About me
I am concerned about climate change and want to do my bit to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I already have solar panels and a battery installed. I'm happy to allow visitors to view my installation if it encourages more people to take similar steps.

Air source heat pump

Installed by Octopus

Installing the system

The installation of the heat pump included 3 larger radiators and a new hot water cylinder.  It took 3 1/2 days to install.  Water was back on in the kitchen and toilets at the end of the first day.  Electricity was only off for brief periods.  The hot water cylinder is now in the loft which has freed up space in the airing cupboard. The boiler was removed from the kitchen creating more storage space.  We now have no gas appliances and the gas meter has been removed.

Living with a heat pump

The heat pump heats water to a slightly lower temperature than a boiler meaning that warm up times are slightly longer.  It compensates for the outside temperature.
