Octopus Casey 9 air source heat pump in a 1965 - 1982 property

About me
We decided to have a heat pump as our gas boiler was failing and we have solar panels which makes us more self sufficient. We also qualified for the £7,500 grant from the government. This allowed us to also have the gas disconnected from the property saving on standing charge.

Visiting my heat pump

Installing the system

The whole process took 4 months and there were some up front costs.  The installation took 5 days to complete.  I decided floorboard the loft before installation.

Living with a heat pump

I've only needed to use the hot water system to date.  We are a family of two and we use less than 1 KW of energy per day which I'm very happy with.  I heat the water overnight when I'm on a 7p tariff.  This results in getting all the hot water we need for less than 50p week.
