Single professional, with environmental conscience. I like the idea of phasing out gas (also switched to induction hob from gas) and have been impressed with the change to date. I found visiting an installed heat pump invaluable so would like to help others make an informed decision.

Installing the system

My existing combi-boiler was removed and new hot water tank installed. No other changes were required, just pipe work for the new heat pump. Install initially took around 4 days, but could have been 3 (late starts and early finishes!).
Had to have several follow up visits - one to reset the base for the heat pump itself, the other to make changes to the pipe work due to some initial issues.
I have the Cosy 6 heat pump.

Living with a heat pump

To date the heat pump has been excellent (although I have yet to experience cold weather, so can’t yet comment on heating performance). The pump only operates for a short period each night (I’m on an ev tariff, so this is when electricity is cheap). I have instant hot water on demand throughout the day. The hot water cylinder maintains the temperature of the water well, with less than a degree or two drop off during the day. It has out performed my expectation.
The pump is really quiet, and only noticeable if immediately adjacent to it. Inside, there is pretty much no noise whatsoever from the whole system.
