Living with a heat pump

We are very fortunate to live in a self build eco-house with high levels of insulation, triple glazing, good air tightness, and solar panels on our roof. We decided to get mains gas disconnected from the site when the house was built, and all our heating and hot water is provided by our air source heat pump, with underfloor heating both downstairs and upstairs. We are very happy with this choice, our house is always warm and our electricity consumption is around 6000 Kwhr per year (£120/ month). Our heat pump will also run in reverse during the hottest summer days, cooling our floors.
