Octopus first sent a designer to plan what was required at our property. The install was booked well into the summer, in July. The equipment was delivered on day 1, a Monday and was installed by Day 5, the Friday afternoon. The team of four or five worked like a band of brothers. They kept the house clean and tidy. We had a new 300 litre Hot Water tank installed in the corner of the utility room. I have further insulated and boxed in the pipe runs within the house, to retain as much heat as possible. The old airing cupboard has been virtually emptied of pipe work, I have further insulated what there is and fitted shelves for storage, a great space recovery.

This is a low temperature heating and hot water system. The Cosy tariff we are on gives three cheap periods of 0400-0700 then 1300-1600 lastly 2200-0000. The heating has two zones, downstairs is set to a few degrees higher than upstairs is. It is only on in the first two cheap periods. Not all the rooms are heated because they are not generally used, but the rads are easily turned on if required. The hot water is however set to 48C and comes on for a while after 2200 to heat up for the next day. It's all we need. We retained the gas hob to cook on at any time of the day. The electric car charges 0400-0700 and if it needs more, I can select a manual charge during the next cheap period. Loads more info available upon request. Also looking forward to your visit
