About me
Oil was getting ridiculously expensive, we moved to electric storage heaters, then an ASHP to reduce our heating costs and be better for the environment. We love having the heat pump and are happy to share our experience. We have solar and a house battery too, so this reduces our electricity costs substantially, as does having an EV tariff from Octopus Energy.

Installing the system

Installation took 5 days. Replaced all our radiators and most pipework to maximise efficiency. Retained our existing DHW cylinder. Very pleased with the performance and running costs. First year SCOP is 4.45.

Living with a heat pump

House is more comfortable and warm everywhere with no temperature changes which we used to notice with the old oil boiler.
