Living with a heat pump

The heat pump runs an underfloor heating system downstairs, a radiator system upstairs and our hot water.

Everything was new as part of a renovation in 2023 when we disconnected our gas supply. We received funding through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme to help with this.

A retrofit has used internal wall, underfloor and loft insulation to reduce heat loss so our house is warm but the bills are well below average.

We also have a woodburning stove but only use this occasionally as it's more expensive and more polluting than the heat pump.

Accessing the venue

Plenty of parking nearby. The house is a set behind a long, sloping front garden so not hugely wheelchair friendly. The area by the heat pump is currently a work in progress so the surface is very uneven.
