Living with a heat pump
We had our heat pump installed over 3 years ago as the existing boiler when we brought the house was knackered.
It cost a bit more than a replacement boiler but I believe the prices have come down quite a bit and with subsidy can be cheaper than a boiler.
The house was fairly well insulated when we moved in, double glazing and cavity wall, but by no means up to modern standards.
It basically functions like a boiler, we turn it up when we want it to warm up and people comment how warm the house is (my wife likes it tropical).
Combined with solar panels on the roof our energy bills are incredibly low. For 2023 they averaged 90 pounds a month, however this includes 7000 miles of electric driving too.
