Installing the system
Samsung 12kw ASHP providing DHW and heat. 9 solar panels . Internal wall insulation (solid walls).
Upgraded radiators.
Still single glazing and original frames.
Installed 2023 under ECO4 grant scheme (off mains gas grid, age/construction, disability benefit level).

Living with a heat pump
(Jan 2025) In our second winter now. This week has been mainly at or below freezing. The system still holds the temp we want, 19 in bathroom and 20+ in lounge. Matt's condition means he is now unable to self regulate body temp which means a fair bit of manual intervention with heating controls.
Overall we are better off than with the previous oil fired everything. The Kw usage in these present outside temps can be scary but it averages out. Octopus Cosy tariff suits very well.
