Daikin air source heat pump in a 1983 - 2002 property

Mike

In trying to do my best for the environment, I've gone full electric with solar panels, batteries and a heat pump. I feel these technologies complement each other well, and am keen to make it easy for others to be confident to go down a similar path.

Installing the system

The Octopus team did my install during the coldest week of January 2024, replacing every radiator in the house (7).  The Daikin Altherma 3 monobloc was installed against the end wall, and a 185 litre cylinder went into the airing cupboard.  Because my airing cupboard was very small, they ran pipework up into the loft where they installed the 26 litre volumizer, expansion vessel, and 3 port valve.

Living with a heat pump

Very pleased with the system, it's cheaper to run than my gas boiler was, and easier to control too, as I can adjust things remotely via the Daikin Onecta app on my phone.
