We refurbished the house when we bought it and wanted to remove the need for fossil fuel and improve the energy efficiency as much as possible. The experience was very educational and it is good to share what we have learned.

Installing the system

Nu-Heat underfloor heating retrofitted to whole house with 12kW air source heat pump. Solar panels - 7.5kWp. Triple glazing throughout plus retrofitted sealing and insulation improvements. (Visit times are negotiable for date and time of day. 'Events' offered are just a starting point. )

Living with a heat pump

We keep the house very warm compared to some households and the heat pump has coped with all the coldest temperatures and needed no intervention other than adjustment of individual room temperatures. Running costs have been as expected or better.
