We have underfloor heating downstairs and we upgraded the upstairs radiators, we improved the loft insulation and installed cavity wall insulation getting ready for the BUS grant.  We then had an opportunity to buy a complete 10kW Grant Aerona3 R32 heat pump set up from a local contractor.  The installation hasn't been the best but we very nearly installed it ourselves (me and a couple of friends) - we are now sorting it out and have invested in a Homely controller and switched to Octopus Agile.  The house is now warm upstairs and downstairs with the hot water being sorted this week.  We went down this route because we came home from holiday last August to find our combi boiler had packed up - I had been researching heat pumps for 18months+ so we decided to go with it - we also considered replacing the combi.  I like what Heat Geeks have to say in terms of looking at your heating system as a heat pump system for your house - not sticking a heat pump in place of a combi with the same pipe work and control systems.  It's an interesting journey and think our installer support network is the problem.
