Living with a heat pump
Our house is a new build built to a Passivhaus specification.
Designed to use only 15 kWh per square meter of net living space per year. Each building has it's own MVHR unit (Mechanical Ventilated Heat Recovery) which reduces heat loss whilst ventilating the building.
The house is a timber frame construction with concrete slab floors. The property consists of 3 buildings (house, workshop/studio flat & office space, that share the same 7kW LG Monobloc Air Source Heat Pump which does all the heating and hot water. We have solar panels and a solar diverter which tops up the hot water tank with any excess generation.
There is underfloor heating on the ground floor and towel radiators in each bathroom.
