Air source heat pump
Living with a heat pump
Our ASHP is run in conjunction with large 200l buffer tank to enable excess solar PV generation to also heat hot water tank & or buffer tank.
Ground floor is all underfloor heating with each room zoned & has heatmiser thermostat to control heating.
ASHP is operated to do 99% of heating during Inteligent Octopus EV tariff 6 hours & then all controls have set back temperatures to prevent house going cold.
Upstairs has radiators & towel radiators with smart rad valves for bedrooms.
Hot water tank 200l & buffer tank are in insulated plant room to further reduce heat loss.
House is now energy cost neutral due to front solar system having FIT registered payments covering the electricity that we buy, including 60+% of our EV journeys with the rest from Solar PV generation apart from winter!
