Mitsubishi air source heat pump in a 1965 - 1982 property

Nigel

We reached a point where spewing out fumes/CO2 and sponsoring the fossil fool industry was no longer acceptable to us. We removed a very good gas boiler and replaced it with an ASHP because conscience left us no choice.

Installing the system

1970s, poorly insulated, 4-bed, brick-built, detached home with predominantly original radiators throughout.
We have  extended on the ground floor, creating a kitchen diner constructed of structural insulated panels with underfloor heating.
Now a very happy gas free home.

Living with a heat pump

Getting to understand the heat pump took time and involved frustration.  We had to discard all that we knew about heating a home with gas and learn a new way of heating.  We now run a warm home with very affordable electricity bills.
