The major extra impact, was that every radiator in the house had to be replaced with a larger one. For the most part, this was done quickly and easily. Installing the heat pump took 3-4 days for initial work, with some later visits required to fine tune things. We had a difficult experience with installation, because the work was done under a government trial run by OVO and there were simply too many different parties involved, some of whom did not know what they were doing. We now know who we would go to to get accurate information though!

We have a Daikin ASHP, a large one, at 11kW - probably bigger than we need. It's for heating a house with 4 bedrooms, so a decent size for Portsmouth houses. We also have solar panels and a storage battery, which reduce the cost of running the heat pump a lot - they're a powerful combination. We also have an EV charger and I'm very happy to talk about any of these with you too.
