Living with a heat pump
We started the journey with an assessment by People Powered Retrofit. They made a detailed model of the house and helped us make a plan. As a result we upgraded our ventilation, installed Passivhaus windows and replaced our gas boiler with a 5kW Vaillant aroTHERM and 250L tank.
We’ve got 3.3kWp solar on the roof with an iBoost solar diverter. This detects when we’re exporting excess solar to the grid and sends that excess into the tank immersion heater… free hot water!
