Living with a heat pump
We have a 16kWp heat pump heating our 1970’s detached house. It can get pretty cold in Banchory (-8degC last winter) but the heat pump kept us warm throughout. The heat pump feeds radiators only. We have been gradually upgrading the insulation and glazing to lower our energy demand. We also have solar for the summer with a home storage battery, which helps us access cheaper tarriffs in the winter when our electricity demand is highest.
