About me
I'm a keen DIYer and, i guess, a Heat Pump and Solar "Envangelist" I had a large solar array installed 2 years ago and have since and added a pair of my 35kwh of batteries sourced from BMW i3s and this heat pump system

Installing the system

Ours is a 5Kw Daikin H/P installed in a hybrid system alongside an existing gas boiler.
This was kept to allow redundancy and to supplement the small H/P if we had cold snaps
10mm microbore piping to radiators is fine!
Self installed with electricial work signed off post install

Living with a heat pump

We keep a constant temperature 24/7 as we work from home.
Insulation and plugging holes, even in a 6 year old house, was a vital first step.
a couple of rads have been uprated but not the piping which works fine, ignore what MCS require!
Yep, yearly bill around £500 even with 2 EVs!
