Vaillant air source heat pump in a 1965 - 1982 property
Michael
We wanted to install a heat pump to produce low carbon heat at a similar cost to our previous gas boiler, along with installing solar and a battery to reduce our electricity bill.

Air source heat pump
Installed by Montali Energy Services
EPC rating: E
Cost of energy bills per year: 2800
Installing the system
Installation preparation took us about three days (removing hardwood flooring, moving furniture away from pipe runs and covering furniture with dust covers).
Heating installation itself took two days.
Scaffolding was erected in one day, then solar (9 x 420W Mono PERC JA Solar panels and 3.6kW Solis inverter) and (5kWh Puredrive) battery installation took one day.
Additionally, mechanical sub floor vents were installed. Underfloor insulation is proving difficult to install.
Mostly funded with a grant from Warmer Homes Scotland.
