Terrace property, hosted by Nathan

It's a very old mid-terrace house with solid walls but we'd improved the insulation already (loft and some foam backed plasterboars on the inside of the exterior walls). We'd also previously fitted solar PV.
The process to fit the heat pum  took about 6 months from first enquiries to a commissioned system. Most of that time was due to shenanigans about noise levels with the council. In the end, we were able to proceed without planning permission by fitting a tall fence thus passing MCS 020 and making it a permitted development. The install itself took a week. The water cylinder replaced the boiler's location and all 8 radiators in the house needed upgrading. But our installer was great, never increased the price from the quote (£3700 after the £7500 government grant).

It's working very well. No concerns about its ability to keep the house warm. I'll be switching to a special tariff soon so that we can make the most of the potential money savings.
