i'm a retired civil engineer and was looking at alternatives to replace our ageing gas boiler. I investigated the heat pump option thoroughly and it has worked well for us. I want to share my practical experience and encourage its use and perhaps dispel some lingering negative publicity about them

Living with a heat pump

Keeps house warm ALL day (not just at peak times as before with gas boiler). Energy use reduced by 75%, annual savings equate to a payback period of 4.5 years (and would have been shorter with latest, higher BUS grant of £7,500)
