We've done a combination of diy and paid for retrofits. We have cavity wall insulation from 25 years ago, loft insulation, and varying ages of double glazing. We have solar panels with microinverters, an AC battery, zappi ev charging, MVHR self installed upstairs for ventilation, and an induction hob. I use Home Assistant for some smart home control.
Removing the gas boiler was the last step of decarbonisation. The Octopus process was nearly a year due to demand, but the price of £2180 was so good we felt it was worth it. We made changes to our small utility to accomodate the hot water cylinder The installation process went well, the team were great, and we're very pleased.

So far so good. The 180l cylinder has enough hot water for three morning showers, an evening bath with some left over. The cylinder retains heat all day and we reheat between 4am to 5-39am on the intelligent Octopus tariff. 
So far we've not really run the heating, but tests seem to work fine. We turned the stat down as it was too warm.
