About me
We installed our heat pump because we wanted to cut our carbon footprint and also were getting increasingly worried about the possibility of fuel leaks from our old oil fired system.

Installing the system

We did some internal insulation the year before we installed the heat pump and replaced a few radiators with higher output versions. It took about two weeks to do the ground loop and about a week to install the heat pump.

Living with a heat pump

Performance in the first year was almost exactly as I expected. In subsequent years we have changed the way we run the system so it heats more gently for longer and this has improved comfort and reduced the running costs.
