I am a retired doctor and novice home restorer. I took this opportunity to retrofit this property to bring it up from EPC F to B. I want to show what is possible and share my journey in achieving this - warts and all - so that others can learn with me.

Installing the system

This installation was part of a wider retrofit to the 1965 chalet bungalow. This included internal insualtion, new double galxed windows and mechanical ventilation and heat recovery. The heat pump works well but getting the heat pump wasn't easy. I am very happy to alert you as to what to look out for when you set about looking into heat pumps.

Living with a heat pump

The heat pump works well and I am learning to balance the solar gain through the windows with running of the heat pump.
