About me
We knew our old Combi boiler was going to need replacement so had time to research the options of going fossil free. Happy to share our experience with others to help you make a decision.

About this property

Lichfield, WS13

3 bedrooms

Air source heat pump

EPC rating: B

Cost of energy bills per year: About £750

Installing the system

House was already well insulated with solar pv and storage battery. . Installation took nearly 5 days of a big team working.  Very efficient  helpful team. Pump in back garden under kitchen window. Tank in garage

Living with a heat pump

Hot water good once we worked out the need to turn down the shower mixer tap. House feels comfortably warm with thermostat set at 17- 18.5 degrees. We have an EDDI which heats the hot water tank when there’s an excess of solar energy once the battery is charged. Total cost of electricity currently looks comparable to when we had a gas Combi boiler.
