We are both retired and still live in the family home with our grandson staying frequently. We wanted to further reduce our carbon footprint and so utilised the gov grant to install the heat pump.

Installing the system

We have no cavity walls so over a period of time we insulated external walls on the inside. We didn't want to change the character of the house from outside. We also maxed the loft insulation. That was enough to meet the requirements.

Living with a heat pump

We’ve only had it a while but have been pleasantly surprised how warm it keeps us including over the recent cold spell of weather.
