About me
Our gas boiler was 40 years old when we moved in. We wanted to be more sustainable, so went for a heat pump.

Installing the system
Expressed interest in March 2023. We installed in Feb 2024. That time was taken up with multiple surveys which were all deficient in some way. The installation went okay, in 4 days, although they had to return to fix some leaks. Even the experienced guys had only been doing the job for 4 months or so at that time. If I was doing it again, I'd get a lot more detail on the routing and the dimensions of what was going in (esp. the water heater). We had to knock down part of a low wall to accomodate the heat pump and spent a fair bit on boxing in the pipework
Living with a heat pump
It's much quieter than many would have you believe. Still working out the best tariff. Taking account of solar panels and batteries is a learning experience. The house has been perfectly warm during the couple of cold spells we had this winter.
