I am a retired but active person who cares about the environment and supports the drive to Net Zero. My house had previously had a LPG boiler which was costly to run . The other important issue for me was that UK energy security is a matter of high importance and reducing our reliance on imports is paramount.

Installing the system

We have a 3 bedroom detached house of modern build and well insulated (B). The installation took 5 days in total and we were without heating for 2 days but did have hot water.

Living with a heat pump

I had some concerns that with a lower boiler temperature the heating would not be as good as the old gas boiler but that was unfounded. You will likely need some larger radiators but in our case that was limited and unobtrusive.
