Daikin air source heat pump in a 1965 - 1982 property

David

It has become quite achievable for a normal suburban house like ours to be net-zero on energy. With solar panels, batteries and heat pump that is something I wanted to do. I hope you feel the same too :-). Happy to help.

Installing the system

The 40 year old windows and doors needed replacement so we had them all changed and upgraded the insulation too. We really wanted to stop burning gas and although the heat pump project took months to organise, our first winter with it has been so much more comfortable. Running costs are lower than gas.

Living with a heat pump

The heat pump settings need quite a bit of fine adjustment to find the best comfort and efficiency in your property- and this is something that I think the manufacturers could improve with automation.
But when set up, the system gets on with the job quietly and gently.
