A bit of a technology/energy geek, an Air Source Heat Pump was an interesting addition to our home to complement Solar Panels and Electric Vehicles. I know the value of being able to visualise and discuss the impact of these changes to your home so love the concept of this site!

Installing the system

We had 6 radiators replaced, along with a larger (300 litre) hot water cylinder which provides us plenty of warmth and hot water. We took the opportunity to remove gas at the time of install, so have since replaced the gas hob with an induction one.

The installation took just over 4 days, without hot water for just one day, where the installers provided fan heaters in case we needed them whilst without heating.

Living with a heat pump

It just works! It's too easy to overthink what difference an ASHP will make, where in reality it just keeps your house warm and your water hot. The scheduling works slightly differently to a gas boiler, but our house has never been so warm.
