About me
We had already installed a large solar electricity generation array and so it made perfect sense to use our surplus electricity to heat the house and our water, via a heat pump, rather than burning gas. As a result we've now disconnected from mains gas altogether.

Installing the system

Our heat pump was installed by Octopus Energy. It took four days and we were only without hot water for a few hours. Pleased with the quality of workmanship.

Living with a heat pump

It's early days but it seemed to work well through a recent cold snap. We've not run short of hot water once since the installation.
