I studied the environment and green energy at university and have always been in to adopting new technologies. There is a lot of scaremongering on heat pumps and while they aren't a perfect magical solution, they do actually work really well. When I had mine installed I was worried that the house would be freezing all day, I wish I could have seen one in action running to put my mind at peace so thought, why not do that for others?

Installing the system

The install took around 4 days to complete and the installer advised us to get three new radiators. They supplied the new radiators and even replaced some old ones. We just had to get the pipework. It was a very smooth operation with a team of four installers, I'll of whom we're very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

Living with a heat pump

The heat pump works really well. January 2025 has been really cold, but for the first time in this house we haven't really noticed it! It functions slightly different to a boiler and the radiators don't get so hot, but the heat pump is designed to run constantly and provides a steady supply of warm. I can confidently say that it works, and it works well into the minus degrees, keeping the house warm.
