About me
I’m an Electronic Engineer working in the technology industry, so I have a strong interest in heat pumps and home energy systems including solar panels and batteries. When we were investigating heat pumps, I wanted to visit an installation but wasn’t able to, so I want to help other people on their heat pump projects.

Installing the system

Our installation required a bit of extra work including a trench and a new support structure in the airing cupboard for the cylinder to sit on. The installation with Octopus was overall very good, the team worked hard and did a really good job. There were a few issues during installation but they resolved them quickly and kept us informed at all times.

Living with a heat pump

The heat pump is working really well. It took us a few weeks to get used to how it works and we fiddled with the settings a bit to get it to suit our use, but now it’s configured as we want it and it’s working well. The house is always warm and there is always plenty of hot water.
