Mitsubishi air source heat pump in a pre 1920 property

Bob

The house needed/needs work! The old boiler was on its last legs. I wanted to eliminate gas and go single fuel. Also have acquired a small electric car. Happy to share the story. I have already opened my home as part of York Environment Week via York Community Energy.

Installing the system

I bought the property in March 2021. The previous occupant had resided here for fifty years.
Double glazing had already been installed. Heating was from a gas fired back boiler located in the living room, with water tank in back bedroom. EPC rating was “F”. 120m2.
I installed the heat pump, new radiators and 8 solar panels over about a week in December 2021.

Living with a heat pump

This is my fourth winter with an ASHP. Works fine. Have just added a new remote (cloud) controller so can change on/off times remotely.
