About me
We wanted to stop consuming fossil fuels but had been on the fence about heat pumps and it would have helped us to visit a home and ask questions. Happy to provide this service to others.

Air source heat pump

Installing the system

Our home was drafty and our gas boiler was getting old. We replaced many windows to improve insulation. Then we tried to figure out a heat pump. After a few false starts we accepted that the outside unit had to go in our rear garden, which is tiny, and we found a great company (Econic). They did a fine job. In total, we replaced 5 radiators.

Living with a heat pump

We are happy that we are no longer consuming fossil fuels, and the house is much more pleasant. Before, it alternated between being cold and hot. Now it's super steady. The only (mild)  regret is that the outside unit is large relative to our tiny rear garden.
