Daikin air source heat pump in a 1945 - 1964 property

Colin

I’ve just retired early from running my own business for 35 years and am happily being a house husband and daddy to my 10 year old son, whom I spend most afternoons running to various sporting activities.

Installing the system

We had to do a few things before the octopus team could install. Arrange for asbestos testing, cut a bigger hole in the ceiling to get water tank in, put up a couple of extra fence panels to compensate for any potential noise issues regarding neighbours!!! (None so far) and had to have a surveyor in to make sure our ceilings were strong enough to have the water tank in the loft

Living with a heat pump

Different… house is now permanently at a stable temp of 20c that we wanted, rather than heating up going cold and then heating again in the evening… we don’t get that real warmth/ heat anymore when our old combo boiler used to kick in but we never get cold either… however if you are just lounging around watching tv, we do sometimes feel a slight chill even though it’s registering 20c? Bit weird, but it’s also nice when needing to get up in the middle of the night and the house isn’t chilly at all.. so we are getting used to it

Accessing the venue

We have a gravel drive that people can pull into and our front door is at the side of the house, not the one that you can see from the road.
