Daikin air source heat pump in a 1945 - 1964 property

About me
We are both retired so keep heating on all day. Our existing boiler had multiple failures over winter periods. We are trying to reduce our carbon footprint and research indicated HP would be a good fit for us.

Air source heat pump

Installing the system

Three radiators changed as the house was renovated three years prior to this. 8kW PV and 20kWh of batteries were installed during the renovation. It took 5 days to complete the HP installation with 3-7 people working on it at times. Previously we had a combiboiler so no hot water tank. Now have a slim line 210L tank in the utility room. Cost of installation £3500 with gov grant.

Living with a heat pump

We are retired so HP on all day with rooms at 20 deg, reducing to 19 deg between 10-4 overnight. We also have PV and batteries so the heat pump is likely not to operate over the summer. Hot water can be heated by PV or overnight at cheap rate with Intelligent Octopus Go.
