Viessmann air source heat pump in a pre 1920 property

Nick

We have a fairly large 17th century former farmhouse. We installed breathable solid wall insulation and secondary glazing in some areas to reduce heat losses, but in retrospect a heat pump could have been installed without this. Our heat pump system works brilliantly despite the challenge of installing in an old grade-2 listed stone and timber framed house.

Installing the system

We added breathable solid wall insulation, secondary glazing, installed a 16 kW Viessmann air source heat pump, and upgraded the radiators to run at 40°C flow temperature.

Living with a heat pump

Very easy and much more comfortable, and costs after 6 months seem to be a lot lower than previously when using oil.
