Daikin air source heat pump in a post 2003 property

Adam

About me
We wanted to be as independent as possible so we are off the gas network, have solar, battery, two EV's and a heat pump. This has helped reduce our carbon footprint and reduce our bills significantly. *Full Disclosure* I do work for Octopus but nothing to do with heat pumps. All experiences and thoughts shared here are my own. I do not get paid to host these events and they are totally independent of Octopus.

Installing the system

The whole process was pretty easy, we answered a few questions online, arranged a surveyor visit, received a quote and then booked the install which took 4 days. We only needed 4 radiators replacing all of which were straightforward and didn’t take long to do. We were given a couple of options for where the water tank could go but we had it installed in the garage.

Living with a heat pump

We had a slight teething problem to start with as it used more energy than expected but the installer came out and sorted it very quickly. Since then the house has been constantly warm as has the hot water. The outdoor unit has been quieter than I expected.

Accessing the venue

There is plenty of on street parking and also a Co-op car park (with an EV charger) a 2 minute walk away if you'd prefer.
