I work for Aira UK, previously worked at E.ON for 15 years, always in roles related to domestic energy efficiency or renewables. I had my Aira ASHP installed last May, this completed my electrification journey, as I have Solar PV and Battery, and an EV charger. I'm happy to open my home as it helps people understand the technology better and the challenges when you have it all in finding the best energy tariffs for your situation.

Installing the system

ASHP was the last product to complete my electrification journey, have solar PV & Battery and EV. Installation took 4 days which included numerous rad changes as we wanted high emitting designer ones to complete the interior design work in the house.

Living with a heat pump

Heat pump is something you never really have to think about. From May to September I had zero bills due to earning the money made on solar export offsetitng the cost of energy. Expecting that to be better this year due to being on a dedicated heat pump tariff. The stand out feature is the way the house now stays at a constant temperature downstairs, slightly cooler in the bedrooms. As my partner works from home it has been much more comfortable - never too hot never too cold (unless I change the temperature on the app). We like it at 20.5 degrees, when my my Mum comes to stay she likes 23 degrees. Thermostats on the radiators mean we can keep our bedroom cooler even when she's trying to bake us!.
